Decorating Our Home and Lighting the World

December is here!

While the big kids were at school I set up our Christmas decorations, including our Little People nativity (we haven't been able to find our grown up nativity sets since we moved from California) . . .

. . . our stars, a wooden tree with many of Jesus's titles (which I made at a Relief Society activity last month), and our advent tree.

As usual, the ornaments for our advent tree are in Santa's pockets, and the kids will take turns putting one on the tree each day until Christmas.

This year, I also put in little notes with suggestions for simple acts of service we can do each day.  They are part of the LDS Church's Light the World initiative to honor Jesus by serving others as He always did.  He is still the greatest Christmas gift ever given, and I think the birthday gift He would want most this December would be for us to follow His example of kindness, generosity, and love.
