So Close And Yet So Far

Wanna entertain a baby for a while?

Fred the Lizard finds this entertaining as well.

Joy the Life Coach

Here are some of Joy's tips for living a happier, healthier life:

1) Don't take yourself too seriously (sock puppets can be helpful for this)

2) Shower regularly

3) Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

4) Spend quality time with your family

5) Get plenty of exercise, and don't forget to have a little fun

A Solid Success

Today I decided to give Daniel his first taste of (semi) solid food.

OK - he likes the bib. So far, so good. (And are those little feet cute or what?)

Naturally, half the rice cereal I fed him dribbled back out of his mouth, but since some of it actually made it to his stomach and he was generally receptive to this new experience, I count today's effort a success.

Of course, Joy was on hand to oversee the whole thing . . .

. . . and since baby stuff is cool she decided that she wanted to get into the booster seat once Daniel was done with it. Since then, she has eaten every meal in that seat. Ironically, a few months ago we couldn't get her into it for love or money. Truly, the only constant is change.

Family Pics

Hooray!

We finally have a (photogenic) picture of all four members of our little family.

Um, and here's a picture of us with our daughter "Igor."

And just for fun, I thought I'd share a couple of other recent family pictures.

Here we are getting ready to watch a firework show over the lake. Joy liked the fireworks, and talked for days about how "youd" (loud) they were.

Here's Daniel getting some love from "Amah." I love his content little smile. Awhhhhh.

Baby and Bear 3

The "Baby and Bear" series continues:

2 months

3 months

4 months

5 months

Wow - he's changed so much even in the past month. Think he'll still be willing to pose with a stuffed bear when he's fifteen years old?

I Knew That . . .

Joy likes putting clippies on her stuffed lion. The other day Phillip asked why we were putting clippies on a boy lion, and I responded that it might be a girl lion.

Phillip replied, "Girl lions don't have manes." Oh yeah.
