Interestingly, she seems to find tummy time much more palatable now that she has the option of ending it. Until this weekend, she would tolerate it for about two minutes before letting us (and everyone else in town) know that she'd had quite enough, thank you.

yeah! aidan has only rolled over once as well (from back to tummy) and he only will tolerate tummy time for about 2 minutes. i was busy in the other room so i put him on his back and i heard him talking and cooing then screaming. i came back in and he was on his tummy and was NOT happy about it. glad to see joy is doing so well. she's getting big!!
Yes, our little girl is growing up.
I confess, I have mixed feelings about these new milestones Joy is reaching. I'm glad she's making progress, but I'm also painfully aware that rolling leads to crawling, and crawling leads to chaos and a million safety hazards.
I'll probably feel the same way a few years from now when she wants to enroll in gymnastics and do back flips off a pommel horse. Every time I cheer her on, I'll also be suppressing the urge to strap a helmet on her.
Ha ha! I know just what you mean about cheering them on but wanting to strap on a safety helmet.
