Road Trip to Memphis

Today we took a long road trip (three hours each way) . . .

. . . to Memphis, Tennessee.

It was cool to see a Bass Pro Shop shaped like a giant pyramid (after all, the city is named after the ancient capital of Egypt) . . .

. . . but the real reason we went was to worship in the Memphis Temple, which is the closest temple to our new home.  Some friends from church kindly took our kids on a picnic at a nearby park while Phillip and I attended a session in the temple.

It was lovely feel the peace of being in the temple, and receive the inspiration that comes so readily there.

Before heading home, we stopped for dinner at Chick-Fil-A.  The three oldest kids spent several minutes at the indoor playground negotiating the most efficient and equitable order for them to use the slide.  Playtime is serious business, folks.
