Cute as a Bug

Recently, I've noticed that something was munching on my basil plant. This morning I took a close look among its branches, and eventually spotted a big, green leg. Then another. Then four more. They all belonged to this guy:

I told him I completely understood his desire to eat tasty leaves, but I respectfully requested that he do it on some other plant. Whereupon I escorted him out front to a large, accommodating bush.

Speaking of relocating, goodness only knows how Joy managed to roll herself into this spot. I guess where there's a will (and a chewy strap) there's a way.

If she is anything like her buddy Dylan, she probably needed help getting out from under the chair. His favorite game these days seems to be "Hide and Scream till Mom Seeks"!

I love the fact that not only would you pick the insect up to move it, you would keep it on your hand long enough to take a picture of it. It's a good picture too! I've been saying that a lot lately.

I actually took about ten pictures, and this was the only one that turned out.

Yeah, you know you're hooked on blogging when you hear yourself say, "Dang! I've gotta keep this bug on my hand long enough to snap a dozen pictures of it! I simply must have photographic evidence of this moment!"

Hey, since I'm not green and leafy I didn't figure it would bite me. If it had been a spider, I definitely would have kept my distance.

I'm always forgetting my camera when moments go by. I suppose I don't really recognized them to much either until there over with but, I do agree, it is a good picture.
