Music and Menchie's

Joy's preschool group took a field trip today.

We all had lunch alfresco . . .

. . . then took a short tour of a music conservatory where they teach a variety of instruments and occasionally hold concerts. Some of their students are young, but others chose to take up an instrument as an adult. One guy we saw is about fifty and just decided to learn the guitar.

The most useful thing I learned from the tour is that most kids aren't ready to start music lessons until about age 5. We fully intend to give Joy music lessons, but I'm glad I don't have to worry about that for another year.

We passed Menchie's on the way home from our tour, and Joy and I agreed that every outing is better with a little frozen yogurt thrown in. Yum!
