Joy has been getting more adventurous lately . . .

. . . whether she's striding along the Great Wall with Daddy's help . . .

. . . or scaling greater obstacles on her own.

Up . . .

. . . and over!
I don't so much mind that she can climb into the crib (when the side is lowered, at least), but I dread the day she attempts to climb OUT of it.

Nathan "fell" out of his crib about a month ago...it freaked me out so we took the front part of his crib off so that it is kind of a toddler bed. HE LOVES it! He actually goes to sleep better. He was crying when we'd put him down, but now, no crying. He has gotten out a few times, mostly at the beginning, but otherwise he is so good. Good luck when you have to go through it all too! Will you put her in a bigger bed when your new baby comes?
Since she hasn't tried climbing out of her crib yet, we plan to put Munchkin #2 in our portacrib and let Joy stay in the regular one for a while. It'd be just my luck that she would want to climb out of a regular bed every 10 seconds, and I don't want to deal with that any sooner than I have to.
