The kids like some aspects of homeschool more than others. They're all happy to do math . . .
. . . but none of them enjoy writing. So, of course, I insist that they do it on a regular basis. I want them to at least become capable writers, but I also hope that, like me, some of them will learn to enjoy writing once they've done it so much that it isn't intimidating anymore.
This morning, Todd and Anna were assigned to write about a gift or talent God has given them. Anna wrote about the joy she feels when she plays songs on the piano. Todd wrote about his talent for learning math.
In her handwriting booklet, Joy demonstrated her talent for humor and quirky artwork by drawing "real" mushrooms (i.e. the pixelated Minecraft version) for her whimsical endermen.
Well, that wraps up our first full week of homeschool! Time for Anna to light up her fairy lantern and cross another day off her calendar. Good night!
