I was looking at Joy today at church and can't believe how big she is getting. The crazy thing is that she is almost exactually one year younger than Gretta. I can't believe how much Gretta has changed in the past year too. They grow up so fast!
Beautiful! My favorite pic and caption I have seen on a parenting blog in awhile. I keep coming back to this photo and wondering whether to comment regarding just how amazing 10 perfect toes really are...
Recently I've become incredibly sensitized to just what a miracle a healthy, perfectly formed child can be. All of the 'coincidences' that have to take place and elements that have to align just so for a little human to grow are just baffling. I know that as a mother of a "perfect piggies" child myself, I rarely think of the countless instances in the lives of other parents where those toes (or some other normally functioning feature we take for granted) never quite form like they should.

About our blog
Before Joy, our first child, was born, we decided that since she'd be the first grandchild on both sides of the family, we'd better figure out some way that we could keep our families up to date with news and pictures. Thus, our family blog was born, and we've found it's a lot of fun to record our family's milestones and day-to-day silliness. Enjoy!

I hear you, Gretchen. It's always interesting for me to watch Gretta and think, "My little crawling, babbling baby will be doing that in a year."
kiddie feets are the best!!!
