I don't think Joy yet grasps who the guy in the red suit is, nor why it's important to stay on his good side.
Frankly, when we placed her on his lap at the ward party and started madly snapping photos, she gave the impression that her personal space was being invaded. At least she didn't cry. We'll see if our luck holds next year.
After the party we brought home this year's Christmas tree (Phillip snapped this picture of it strapped to our silver bullet out front). We've had amazingly bad luck with trees throughout our marriage - the first dried out long before Christmas Eve, and the next one developed a singularly unpleasant odor. Third time's a charm, they say.

Did you get the tree fresher powder? That helps alot. We put it in the water every week. They have it at wherever you buy your tree. At Home Depot they give it to you free.
We didn't. Maybe we should.
You're so lucky that she didn't cry. It's funny how some kids completely freak out and others aren't even phased.
Joy looks so adorable on Santa's lap! I saw your tree and it is definitely a good looking one!
I'm glad Joy was okay on Santa's lap. Paul freaked out when he looked up and saw whose lap he was sitting on. I also saw your tree and think it is beautiful.
Good Job Joy. HJ's on her 6th visit to Santa and has yet to willingly sit on his lap, speak to him, or keep a dry eye.
And bravo on not giving up on live trees!
