Joy celebrates her sixth birthday this month.
Grandparents and other extended family gathered to watch Joy blow out the candles on her donuts (she requested them for her birthday dessert instead of a cake), . . .
. . . she opened a few presents on her actual birthday, . . .
. . . then we invited friends over for a party this morning. We strung cereal necklaces, . . .
. . . played Duck Duck Anything, . . .
. . . smashed a pinata (which began life as a Kleenex box), . . .
. . . and enjoyed yummy treats for dessert. Joy wanted to make sure everyone would see something they liked, so she asked me to make cupcakes, brownie bites, and mini pumpkin pies.
