Joy is lucky to have both sets of grandparents so close by. What's more, both grandmas share two of Joy's main interests:

Cuddles and books. Here Phillip's mom teaches the hazards of hobnobbing with crustaceans: "Beware the crab! I think he knows/Just how to pinch your little toes!"

Here's my mom facilitating tactile development: "That's not my puppy. His tail is too fluffy."
Important life lessons, both.
You know the really fantastic thing about this is that Joy is growing up learning how wonderful books can be. That is one of the things that I am most grateful for--that my grandmother read to me while I was young.
ReplyDeleteI think an appreciation of books is one of the best gifts you can give a child. It can bless them immensely in education and in life.
ReplyDeleteOf course, there's no guarantee that reading to your child will make them a bookworm. My mom read to all four of us kids, but I'm the only one who voluntarily read books as a teenager.
That's cute. It's nice to have grandparents nearby.
ReplyDeleteHey---that is an Usborne book! I love love those books. I just had a little eshow for them. I didn't know you guys were fans. :)
ReplyDeleteJoy is so lucky to have both grandmas so close by. Plus, I think it's great you have instilled in her a love for books. Hopefully it will last throughout her life!
