Life in the Super Duper Fast Lane

Anna, Todd, the Shark Stroller, and I are on our way to pick up Daniel from kindergarten.

While we wait for his class to get out, Anna often announces that she's going to run around the grass area "super duper fast!"  As I watch her hustling around the lawn at 1 mph with her hair streaming behind her, it reminds me how epic things seem when you're young.  Leaping off a four-foot pile of cushions feels like you're BASE jumping off a towering cliff, and scooting along a smooth floor in your socks feels like figure skating in the Olympics.

New Year's Scoot

Happy New Year, everyone!

Today we continued our annual tradition of planning to go see the Rose Parade floats, then deciding to sleep in instead.

After we finally got up and dressed, Anna had a lot of fun tooling around the courtyard on her new scooter.

Her brother did, too (I think I know what he's going to get for his birthday).

Todd was too young to savor the delights of the scooter, so his sweet big sister took him for a ride on the PlasmaCar.

And though my amaryllis didn't quite manage to open in time for Christmas, it was lovely to see it blooming on New Year's Day.
