Future Blackmail Material

Someday, a teenage Joy will probably heave a big sigh and say, "Oh Mom, why did you post those photos?"

The fuzzy, pink, terrycloth Force will be with you . . . always.

I told Joy if we run across a film crew recruiting extras, she should offer to play a short guy with a receding hairline. She didn't get it.

Somehow, I expected the Easter bunny to be taller.

OK, Joy. Here's a normal picture just for you. You sure have a cute smile.

Smile

Aunt Laura was back in California for Spring Break last week, so we brought Joy out to Fullerton for a visit. They assure us that they like to see us, too, but realistically we know who the star is. Don't worry--we're OK with that.

Here Grandma Hendrickson is trying to get Joy to smile for the camera. I still say grandparents are almost as cute as their grandbabies. Almost.

A Small Joke

What do you call a 24" baby learning to stand?

Two feet on two feet.

Um, I Think It's Too Small

Joy thinks it's time to retire this outfit.

Destined for the Big Screen

Since we live so close to Hollywood, it's not uncommon for Joy and me to run across movie crews like this one on our morning walks.

I had to run home and get the camera for this crew because when I looked on the backs of the chairs I saw that they were filming . . .

. . . National Treasure II (probably too small for you to read it--sorry). The original National Treasure is one of my favorite movies (I'm a history buff--what can I say?), and I hope the second film will be as much fun as the first.

If we walk by the set enough days in a row, maybe a talent scout will discover Joy and invite her to be in the picture. Seriously--look at this range of emotion:

"Unassumingly Innocent"

"Somewhat Dubious"

"Politely Incredulous"

They Grow Up So Fast

We can't believe how much our baby girl has grown . . .

This picture of Joy was taken on 12/17, about a week after she was born.

Here she is in the same outfit today. We're finally retiring this sleeper because it, and nearly everything else she wore in those first weeks, is now too small.

Next thing we know she'll be asking us for the car keys.
