Family History Tutorial, Family-Style

Joy learned about family history at her Activity Days meeting last week, and she was interested to learn more.

Papa is currently serving as a family history consultant in his ward, so we asked if he would come over today and give us a little tutorial.  He showed us how to use the latest online tools to expand and learn more about our family tree.  We're looking forward to doing some more research on our ancestors, now that we know how to do it.

Park and Palace

Joy and Anna were in the mood to build things tonight.

Joy constructed the entrance to an amusement park (I'm not sure where the rest of the park is).

Anna built a castle, which she's apparently pretty excited about.

Castle Collaboration

We went to the park with some friends today.

The little kids played on the slides . . .

. . . and the big kids played in the sand.

Joy built a castle . . .

. . . then teamed up with a friend on a joint project

Creeper Cake

Joy received a couple of cake pans for Christmas from Uncle Andrew.

Today she decided to use her cupcake recipe to make a single-layer cake.

A Creeper cake, to be precise.

A stunning likeness, don't you think?  Either way, it sure tasted good.

Scooting in the New Year

The weather was very pleasant today . . .

. . . and the kids spent the afternoon biking and scooting.

Joy is getting very good at pedaling her bike . . .

. . . and Todd discovered that scooting is fun.

He still feels more comfortable on the PlasmaCar, though.
